Welcome to the Show!

Community Heroes

This show is dedicated to sharing the journey of ordinary individuals doing extraordinary things in their hometowns, sporting clubs, service organisations, businesses to make a positive impact on people all over the globe.

What We Talk About

We share our stories to inspire others to take action, get involved, or encourage them to do more for themselves and those in their communities.

Hear how people are using their skills and experience in work, life or business to help those around them. In the digital world we now live in, our communities now easily span across the globe.

Communities are more than the town we live in, it’s a group of people that care about each other and feel they belong together. We all belong to many different communities that reflect our thoughts, interests, professions or social engagements.

Hear from doctors, sporting coaches, entrepreneurs, mums, dads and kids that are all doing what they can to give knowledge, spark of joy, hope and love to others.

“Alone we can do so little;

together we can do so much.”

– Helen Keller

About the Host

Cathryn Mahon grew up in rural North-East Victoria, living most of the time on small acre farms. Now living in what she describes as the Big Smoke the thriving town of Bendigo. Always looking to new experiences, changes and pushing out of the comfort zone.

Known as an Ideas Generating Machine, Cathryn loves developing new concepts and ideas for businesses, individuals and service clubs.  Her keen eye for detail, intuition, diverse business knowledge and ‘fix anything attitude’ breathes life back into the most stagnate of businesses, clubs or people.

However, it was her involvement in a community group that taught her the skills and gave her the opportunity and courage that have been instrumental in her career and life development.

From this experience it was further ingrained the power of community and the wondrous advantages they provide whether it be personally, professionally, socially or emotionally. And Cathryn continues to be involved with community groups, not-for-profit organisations and service clubs in many different aspect.

“I want to encourage everyone to get involved with their communities whether it be remotely or locally, you really never know the incredible lessons you will learn, people you will encounter or opportunities you will have.
